MUSCLE
TENSION HEADACHES
These headaches are also known as "Stress Headaches" and are primarily caused by sustained contraction of the muscles of the neck and shoulder. The pain is usually present at the end of the day and localised to the back of the neck and may also refer the pain above the eyes. These headaches are very common with office desk bound workers who use a computer. The poor postural position, which one assumes while spending extended periods of time behind a computer, will predispose one to this type of headache. Correct office ergonomics is therefore imperative in the prevention and reduction of this condition. However, as a result of prolonged exposure to this environment, the stresses incurred will alter the normal alignment of the spine. Chiropractic treatment for this condition will not only successfully resolve the headaches but also correct the poor structure (the cause). Helpful Hints for Muscle Tension Headache Sufferers:
